Save the Elephants: STOP BLOODY IVORY
This week, two countries are seeking to break the worldwide ban on ivory trading — a decision that could wipe out whole elephant populations and bring these magnificent animals closer to extinction.
But many African states and conservationists support extending the ban on elephant-slaughtering ivory trade. The decision will be made at a UN meeting in Doha on 13 March, and global public opinion could tip the balance!

my new motto in life.
THIS entire senior class at Chicago’s only public all-male, all-African-American high school has been accepted to four-year colleges. At last count, the 107 seniors had earned spots at 72 schools across the nation.

Love this skirt, courtesy of my Mum’s ReFab shop.
This wrap skirt is made from absolutely gorgeous fabric purchased directly from the vendors at the fabric markets in Accra, Ghana. The fabric is dyed and batiked with very permanent high quality dyes. It will not run, even in warm water! It is a joy to behold, with vibrant colors and remarkably inventive designs.
One day an old Native American grandfather was talking to his grandson. He said, “There are two wolves fighting inside all of us - the wolf of fear & hate, & the wolf of love & peace.”
The grandson listened, then looked up at his grandfather and asked, “Which one will win?”
The grandfather replied, “The one we feed.” (via jaeboogie: ewokgia)

I cannot decide which Good Wood to order. Maybe you guys can help me out? If the answer is all of the above…I feel ya. If you don’t know about Good Wood, then you MUST check them out. Amazing artist, great company with substance and style. Just how I like it.
I constantly feel like I am being attacked about my race. Most people might say, stop worrying about it or what does it matter but it matters to me. I literally cannot step out of my house without someone asking me “what I am”. Even with my big a** headphones, sunglasses and scarf wrapped around my head people still poke, grab or wave their arms to get my attention. Then comes the inevitable “I never would have guessed you were black”. I honest to god don’t get it, when I step in front of the mirror all I see is Black. Its not that I want people to see me as ONLY being Black. What bothers me is that its always presented to me in a, well aren’t you glad I didn’t think you were Black type of way. Well, I’m not glad.
I just had to release that. Think or say what you will.
